Is it possible that this is a common, although misguided, approach to writing a college essay?Well, the truth is, if your essay requires you to write anything, then that's exactly what it's going to be. Some topics will be more appropriate than others.Writing a college essay on sports is not something that I recommend. It's too intense. Writing about basketball in high school? If you begin to waste precious time doing trivia and reading between the lines, you are goi ng to become frustrated and lose focus. You can also use your own experiences and the experience of your other students to add a little bit of personal insight to your story.Writing a college essay should be an enjoyable experience, not something you dread and eventually quit because you feel like you're too tired or frustrated to keep up. Be sure to focus on your personal experiences, which will show how well you were able to connect with other students during your college experience.
